The River Nile splits in two

Many people know of the Nile River (largely due to poor “denial” jokes) but it is surprising just how many people are not aware that the river has two parts to it; the White Nile and the Blue Nile. The former is the longest part of the river whilst the Blue Nile splits off in central Sudan and travels down to Lake Tana located in the heart of Ethiopia. The Blue Nile is the source of most of the rivers’ water and also contains the majority of fertile soil. How interesting – I would really love to cruise along this famous stretch of water someday.
